It is very hard to believe that this will be our last update for the year. What an amazing journey it has been. I say with complete honesty that this has been one of the most productive and rewarding years I have had in the classroom. We will miss seeing the smiling faces of each of your children every morning, but we look forward to staying in touch with all of you next year and for years to come. Thank you for sharing your precious children with us.
Last week was very special. We hope you enjoyed the Mother’s Day celebration. The kids worked so hard, and we were very proud of them! We have uploaded some of the photos, and we will continue to add more. It was also such fun celebrating Ms. Thomas’s unbirthday! Thank you Jackie Knotts for making is so special. We love Ms. Thomas!
Our final homework update is below, and there are a number of activities happening that you can see on our timeline to the right. Our last full day of school is next Wednesday, May 20. We have a half-day on Thursday, May 21, and Friday, May 22 is Recognition Day for fifth graders. We will sit together as a class, and carpool will begin just after the ceremony at 9:45.
Each of you received a list of suggestions for summer work at conferences yesterday. If you did not have a conference, you will find those suggestions in your child’s folder today. Below I have included a link to the 4th grade summer reading site. Kendall Ratterree will be speaking to our class tomorrow about the expectations of summer reading and some of the things they have to look forward to next year!
In addition to the summer reading link, you will also find a link to the economics, game Lemonade Stand that we played in Social Studies last week. I am proud of how tech savvy our kids are. If they have not already showed you their personal Weebly blog, be sure to have them do so!
Finally, thank you all for making this year so very special. We would like to say a special thank you to Amanda Napier and Adrienne Port for being our fantastic room moms. You truly made this year amazing!
I will say “Happy Summer” to you all now, and I will say it to your little ones on Thursday of next week, as I will be sitting with my family for Ivey’s 5th grade graduation on Friday. Ms. Thomas will be sitting with the kids Friday and will have final hugs for them then. Have a fun filled summer!

Homework for the Week:
Reading: Everyone should keep on reading! Some students need to log this week. Most students do not need to. If a child did not turn in a reading log for this week, or if it was incomplete, he/she should complete a log for this week. (Each child has a log that either says, “Optional” or “Turn in by Tuesday”.)
No more homelinks or logs this year - Of course, if a child would like to do the home links that are left, they may. We will be happy to take them.
Unit 10 Review - Due Next Tuesday
We are taking the End of Year Review this week.
Complete the “Letter to a Rising Third Grader” page. Due Monday
There will be on additional homework assigned.
